Would "Polio" be a Contra-Indication for massage?
Q. I think it would be a contra-indication to have a client receive a massage who had polio since in my research for my paper it's definition is "infectious viral disease". So my thought is that is should be approved from a doctor or licensed health professional to receive a massage. . .but please let me know what you think??? If they're are any doctors or nurses or other health realted professionals in here please help!!! I would greatly appreciate it! thanks kristin!

A. Is this an active case? If so, it is a contraindication. If it is someone who had polio long ago then it is no problem to massage.

How will the new "health care reform" placed in the stimulus bill affect alternative medicine?
Q. The proposed health care reform will define which doctors are "meaningful users" of the system, and I was wondering if alternative health care providers (chiropractors, massage therapists, etc) will be considered "meaningful users".

A. The proposed "Health Care Reform" included in the stimulus is designed to do one thing: allow the government to decide who lives and who dies in order to "boost efficiency".

What's the difference between "Clinical Research Administration" and " MBA in health care"?
Q. There are lot of university that present MBA in health care, however "Clinical Research Administration"is presented just in several universities. I want to know more about difference. I have BS in pharmacy. which one do you advise to get as MS?
Asked by desmond - Wed Aug 19 03:34:09 2009 - Higher Education (University +) - 2 Answers - Comments

A. Clinical Research is exactly what it says. The MBA in health care is geared towards business management/administration. I have a BS in Health Care Administration and am the graduate program I'm doing is an MBA with health care emphasis. If you have a BS in pharmacy, why don't you just go to pharm school? This is total speculation, but if you have a pharmacy degree you'd probably be more interested in clinical research admin, but that's probably something you should discuss with your academic adviser and not random people on the interwebs.

A. Who knows what they changed or cobbled up at the last minute, but when I read through either the senate bill or what was proposed this weekend, I saw something about a 3.8% tax (maybe bumping up medicare tax?). You know that when they call such an expensive bill "deficit neutral" that it involves tax increases for someone, which trickles down to all of us.

How do I write a "Policy" or find an agency that does this. This is required for operating a Home Health Care ?
Q. In order to operate a Home Health Care Agency or Medical Supply business, you are required to write a formal "Policy". I am looking for guidelines with this process or someone with experience. Will pay for services if you write Policies for a living. I seem not to find people in this line of business.

A. It's amusing and understandable that Dear Leader Obama, Pelosi, and Reid cannot sell this to their own members, a majority in both House and Senate. I am sure both Pelosi and Reid have used every tactic in the book from bribes er... earmark promises to outright threats to get their respective members to move with no luck.

When you voted for "change" last November, did that include a mandate to purchase health insurance?
Q. Will you "believe in" change that includes a requirement that all individuals buy health insurance ?(like auto insurance - oh boy, double coverage by insurance companies - health insurance via car insurance plus health insurance via mandated health care = happy birthday to all insurance companies again, after they just pulled 3 trillion $$$ out of our Treasury). Mandated insurance premiums - that's what Mitt Romney was touting. Looks like the unregulated caps are still in charge. Agree?

A. My uncle is a M.D. He studied many years to become a doctor. In the end, he is also a technician. A technician of the body. So what makes the Liberals think that just because he is a technician of the body, and can help peoples health, that they have a right to force him into Universal Health Care? Who the hell do the liberals think they are? You liberals think Doctors are slaves, don't you? Funny that he will pay taxes just so that people may have free health care which he will ultimately work for, if the Liberals succeed. He will pay for it so that people won't have to pay to see him. It's kind of ironic.

How will we afford "affordable" health care?
Q. All of these people that say they are tired of expensive health care and that the "government" ought to step in and "provide affordable health care" -- do these people not realize that WE are the government, and that the money that the government has comes from we the people? In other words, either way, WE are going to be funding health care. Are people REALLY that stupid? I mean come on, which in the end do YOU think will be more expensive - health care financed by the private sector or by the government? Does the government do anything better or cheaper than the private sector? If you think health care is expensive now, wait until it's free.

A. This is a fascinating question if people can take the emotion out of it (which seldom is the case). Healthcare providers and insurance cos. are no more "greedy" than any other business people -- yet there really are many cases of just inexplicably high costs. Why is that? Must be supply and demand. If people want the government to intervene, would that the government actually do things to increase supply and competition among providers -- that is the key to bringing down costs in this and every other industry. Usually the government does just the opposite, colluding with doctors to limit the supply of providers whenever possible; colluding with medical schools to ensure there are no new medical schools opened up; making it… [cont.]
